Exercise key to losing baby weight

Getting fit is easier said than done. I have struggled with extra pounds since giving birth to my first child, Jordan.

The running joke is ‘I’m carrying baby weight.’ When I say that to people now, they are like, ‘you just had the baby. Give it time.’ Unfortunately, the baby weight I am referring to is the 50 pounds I gained with Jordan, who will be 10 in August.

I have already lost all my weight from Gavin, my three month old.

I only gained 25 pounds with Gavin, and I only gained 19 pounds with Cameron, my six year old.

This spring, I have been working to lose the baby weight to bring myself back down to my original size.

Jimmy and I bought the P90X program and began using it immediately. I have to admit, it’s hard but it’s worth it. The workouts get results.

I lost two sizes in six weeks. Now, I am back in the regular clothes post baby number three.

The workouts themselves are difficult. Some of the moves that must be completed are so hard that I didn’t think  I’d ever be able to do them.

When I started I couldn’t do any pushups. Now, I can do about 10 before I get tired. That’s a definite improvement.

The yoga was also very challenging. I mean I couldn’t believe people actually did yoga and called it relaxing.

Now, I can do more moves than before, and the moves I have mastered are relaxing.

So I get it now.

As with any workout, commitment is the key.

However, just when I was about to see even more results, baseball season came into full swing, and I had to slack off the exercise because I just didn’t have the time with work, a new baby, and baseball games or practice every night.

I love the workouts, and can’t wait until Cameron’s last game to get back on track. Jordan will have games until June, but Cameron’s season wraps up this week.

While I haven’t gained any of the weight I lost back, I can tell I’m not working out. I get tired more easily, and I stopped dropping the weight.

I guess the plan is to get back in front of my living room TV as soon as possible to get the rest of this baby weight off.
