Law enforcement agencies team up for big meth bust
Earlier this week several law enforcement agencies from northwest Alabama joined forces to take 175 drug producers and peddlers off the streets.
This type of cooperation can have a big impact on the fight against crime.
While every meth arrest is a small victory, taking 175 offenders off the street at one time is a major blow.
It is ridiculous to think that law enforcement agencies will ever be able to completely rid the world of meth users, netting so many at once makes it difficult for potential makers and users in the area.
These 175 people are not on the streets sharing their knowledge of manufacturing with the next generation of dealers and they are not on the street selling or getting the next generation of addicts hooked.
Yes, each of the agencies involved would have loved to have made the bust by itself, but the cooperation might have been the best thing for all involved.
It certainly made their jobs easier for a little while.
