Who wouldn't be inspired by "The Buried Life"

By Staff
Nathan Strickland
I have been watching this show on MTV every Monday night around 9 p.m. and it has really inspired me and made me think about life in general.
The show is called "The Buried Life" and it is about four young guys who had made a list of 100 things they would like to do before they die. They have a big purple bus and travel around the United States and attempt some insane things that no one in their right mind would even attempt to try.
One of the shows had the guys attempting to tell a joke on a late night television show. They went to the studios where Jimmie Kimmel, David Letterman, Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien tape their shows. They tried and tried to get in and get the joke on air, every time they were captured and either just kicked off the premises or hauled off to jail.
Sometimes they succeed with an item on the list. During their last aired show, they wanted to throw the biggest, best party anyone has ever seen in a town ran with strict rules and strict police in the city.
They succeeded and even got the group "Naughty by Nature" to perform. They have attempted some impossible things and sometimes they got in and sometimes they struggled to succeed. The message I got from the show is that you never know if you don't try.
The one show I enjoyed was when they attempted to try and play basketball with Obama. The guys got so close to setting up something.
They meet with a congressman and talked on the phone with Obama's right hand man, Reggie Love.
They will continue to try and set something up with Obama, but for now they had to move on to the next item on the list.
The guys trying to accomplish something on their list is only half of the show. While they are in the process of accomplishing a certain item on their list, they grab some random person off the street to ask them "What do you want to do before you die?" They always succeed here. During the last show, they found this guy who had been adopted and asked him the question.
He replied that he would really like to meet his biological dad before he died. The four guys searched and searched for the guy's dad and found him and set up a meeting for the two to meet.
In another show they had met a teacher who was struggling at his school and all he wanted was to get his students some computer access.
The guys picked up some part-time jobs at a BBQ place and raised the money and bought the teacher an apple computer for his to put in his classroom for his students.
"The Buried Life" is a very inspiring show and my hat goes off to Ben Nemtin, Dave Lingwood, Duncan Penn and Jonnie Penn for their kindness they have showed others and their courage to attempt what sometimes might seem impossible and make it happen. There I've said my peace.
Until next time, Later Dayz…
