By Staff
The All-Star teams from the Russellville Recreation Department and the Franklin County Youth Basketball Organization performed well at the District Tournament in Haleyville this past weekend.
All three of the FCYBO girls teams won their tournaments to advance to the state tournament. The Russellville 8-and-under team will also play in the state tournament.
On the boys side, the 8-and-under FCYBO team defeated Russellville to win the district title. Both squads will play in the state tourney.
Before the teams pack their bags to head to Gadsden, they will play in a tune-up tournament in Belgreen this weekend.
All-Star teams from FCYBO, Russellville, Haleyville, Winfield, Deshler, Colbert Heights and Belmont, Miss. will compete in the tournament.
Games begin at 8:30 a.m. and will be played in both gyms at Belgreen High School. Admission is $2 for an all-day pass.
