A Russellville man was arrested Sunday afternoon after trying to break into a city pharmacy, officials said.
Troy Eugene Dawson, 38, 1500 N. Jackson Ave., Russellville, was charged with third-degree attempted burglary and second-degree criminal mischief after he tried to break into the drive-through window of Hometown Pharmacy on Gandy Street. The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Police Chief Chris Hargett said.
Witnesses nearby saw Dawson throw a rock through the window and alerted police.
"We had witnesses who saw someone trying to break in and saw him run to a nearby residence," Hargett said.
"The officers got a description of him and went to the home and arrested him there."
Dawson is being held in the Russellville city jail.
