Red Devils prepare for round two

By Staff

VINA – The Vina football team hits the road for the second-straight week and will face Phillips for the second time this season.
The last time these two teams met, the Bears walked away with a 44-14 victory.
This time, the Red Devils will try to give Phillips its first loss of the season.
Vina looked good at times in the mucky conditions at Phil Campbell last week, but turnovers took their toll and the Bobcats capitalized.
The Red Devils will need to control the ball better this week because Phillips has a much more potent offense than Phil Campbell – the Bears are averaging 52 points per game.
The Red Devils give up an average of 30.4 points per game. They are scoring an average of 14 points per game.
Phillips is allowing 13 points per contest.
While this is a game against region foes, this will not count in the region standings because it is the second meeting between the schools. The first meeting is used for region standings.
The game starts at 7 p.m.
