PC's Hamby earns ASWA honors

Phil Campbell eighth grader Dalton Hamby's excellent defensive performance in last Friday's win against Vina drew the attention of the Alabama Sports Writers' Association and earned him an honorable mention in the Player of the Week awards.
Hamby, who battled the flu and missed every practice last week, recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown and intercepted a pass in the fourth quarter, which helped set up a Bobcat score to pad Phil Campbell's lead.
It was the first win for Phil Campbell since the Bobcats beat Vina during Week 5 of the 2008 season.
