Commission supports work on Lawrence

The county commission voted Monday to support the city of Russellville's efforts to repair one of the county's most heavily traveled roads.
The commission passed a resolution supporting the city's efforts to secure funding for repairs to the section of Lawrence Street that connects U.S. 43 and Alabama 24.
County engineer David Palmer said that traffic counts show more than 3,000 vehicles travel that road each day.
"That's a lot of traffic for any road," he said.
The commission also voted to look into having guardrails placed on both sides of a section of Baker Road.
