Watermelon Festival's success continues
By Staff
There has been a great deal of hard work put into this weekend's annual Watermelon Festival.
Planning and preparation began shortly after the last visitor left the festival in 2008.
The Watermelon Festival has grown over the years from a one-day gathering of farmers in downtown Russellville to what we know it as today – a weekend long celebration that brings visitors from all over the country.
There are too many people whose names should be recognized for making this festival possible for us, but unfortunately, someone would be left out if we tried.
Special thanks should be offered to the chamber of commerce, its Junior Leadership students and employees of the city of Russellville. It is good to know that we have something to look forward to each August.
