David Lee Phillips

David Lee Phillips, 50, of Double Springs died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009 at his residence. He was born on Aug. 6, 1958 in Sealy, Tex. He had lived in Alabama for 27 years and was employed as a truck driver with Cox Farms in Haleyville.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Essie Williams; sister, Donna Parrish, and his mother-in-law, Pauline Treece.
Mr. Phillips is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mildred Treece Phillips of Double Springs; children, Anthony and Christina Brock, both of Haleyville, and Amy (Kevin) Willis of Littleville; father Herman Williams of Conroe, Tex.; brother, Dale Williams of Conroe; granchildren, Sarah, Carlea, Tristin, and Kaleigh Brock, and Caleb and Will Sayles, all of Haleyville; Autumn Willis of Littleville, and a host of friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009 at Pleasant Hill No.1 Church in Houston with Bro. Dewayne Satterwhite officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.

Eulis S. McDaniel, of Danville, Va., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009.
He was born the son of the late Charlie and Lula McDaniel in Franklin County. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a WWII veteran having flown 43 missions in the South Pacific with a total of 423 combat hours.
He graduated from Belgreen High School and the University of Alabama. Following graduation, he was employed by Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Gadsden, Ala. He later transferred to Danville, Va. to help with the start-up of a new plant. Before retirement, the Goodyear Co. sent him to Europe where he resided in Rome, Italy and Brussels, Belgium while working throughout Europe. He retired from Goodyear after 34 years of employment.
He is survived by his wife the former Ruth Davis, of Russellville; four daughters, Scarlett Zaremba, Tonya Anderson, Bettina Morrison and LaJuana Lanham; eight grandchildren, TaLeah and Tyler Anderson, Malina Morrison Burnett, Miles and Mason Morrison and Tivoli, Trevor and Tiera Lanham; son-in-laws, Ed Zaremba, David Anderson, Jeff Morrison and Craig Lanham; siblings, Wesley, Guy and Charles McDaniel, Lydia Stidham, Dorothy Hughes, Christine Hester and Diane Hester. Preceding him in death was his sister, Clois Davis.
He will lie in state at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville on Sunday, August 16, 2009, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be Monday, August 17, 2009 at 3 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home with burial following at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Leona Delsie McRight, 78, of Russellville, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009 at Burns Nursing Home.
The visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. at Franklin Memory Gardens. Officiating will be Bro. Tom McDowell.
She is survived by her sister, VerNell Scott, of Cookville, Tenn.; special devoted friend, Bettie Entrekin; god-grandson, Alexander Smith; nephew, George Scott and wife, Nina; great nephews, Spencer Scott and Elliot Scott.
Pallbearers will be Melvin Smith, Pete Smith, Ryan Smith, George Scott, Spencer Scott, Elliot Scott, and Maxwell Snider. Honorary pallbearer will be Alexander Smith.
She was a member of Concord Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Concord Baptist Church, 709 Gandy St. NE, Russellville, AL 35653.
