Jacquelene Dobbins

Jacqulene Dobbins, 58, of Russellville, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2009.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, at Akins Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Johnny Richardson officiating. Interment was in Belgreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers were her nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack W. Dobbins.
She is survived by her mother, Mildred Taylor Dobbins; sisters, Frieda Jackson and husband, Joe, Patsey Pennington and husband, Steve; brothers, Dallas Dobbins and wife, Wanda, Dennis Dobbins and wife, Gayle, Durell Dobbins and wife, Gloria; 18 nieces &nephews.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Velon Hacker

Velon Hacker, 78, of Russellville, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2009.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, at Akins Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Malcomb King and Bro. Eugene Digby officiating. Interment was in Dempsey Cemetery.
Pallbearers were his grandsons, Kevin Tesseneer, Derrick Tesseneer, Jessie Davis, Jamie Davis, Travis Whitaker, Tray Jones, David Jones and Matt Thompson. Grandson Sgt. Brannon Lee Jones served as an honorary pallbearer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Alice Hacker; son, Randy Dale Hacker; siblings, Venyon Hacker, W.C. Hacker, Wayne Hacker and Anthony Hacker; grandson, Daniel Dale Hacker.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Ruth Hacker; children, Patricia Hacker Tesseneer and her husband, Dwight, Linda Hacker Campbell and husband, Tommy, Danny Velon Hacker and wife, Jeanette, Sandra Hacker Thompson and husband, Mike, Cindy Hacker Jones and husband, Isaac, Jr., Donna Hacker Butler; siblings, Varnese Hacker Warhurst and husband, Shorty, Reynon Hacker and wife, Myrtle, Sue Hacker Hardesty and husband, Tom, Lela Hacker Dawson and husband, Bobby, Jacqueline Hacker Coleman and husband, Joe, Ace Hacker and wife, Legia, Harty Hacker and wife, Susan; 14 grandchildren, Kevin Tesseneer, Chrissy Holland, Derrick Tesseneer, Isaac III "Tray" Jones, Jessie Davis, Matt Thompson, David Jones, Travis Whitaker, Marrisa Hacker, Laura Thompson, Jamie Davis, Brannon Jones, Suzanne Whitaker; 2 step-grandchildren, Grant Campbell and Jacoby Butler; 7 great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews.
He was a member of James Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
He was a hero to his wife and family, brothers and sisters. He adored each and every one of them and he will truly be missed by all that knew him.
He was a strong man of determination and dedication in all that he did.
Beside God and his family, music was the love of his life. His brothers and sisters will tell you that he was the reason and the originator of the "Hacker Brothers" band. Some will remember his music from the 1950's when he signed with a major recording company, Brunswick Records. His music career took him across the U.S. touring with his brothers, "The Hacker Brothers" and his cousins, "The Parrish Brothers". He loved nature, gardening and his greatest love, hunting Ginseng.

Mr. R.W. Darty, 80, of Hartford, died Monday, July 13, 2009, in Henry County Nursing Home.
Memorial services were Friday, July 17, 2009, at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Hartford with Rev. Earl Clark officiating.
Mr. Darty was laid to rest in Russellville, where he was a native, before moving to Geneva County. He was a World War II veteran.
Mr. Darty is survived by the mother of his children, Ruby Borden Darty; one son, Norman Darty and his wife, Nancy, of Hartford; three daughters, Shirley Ledbetter and her husband, Danny, of Summerville, S.C., Minet Glenn and her husband, Jeff, of Crescent, Ga., Diane Bradley and her husband, Gus, of Hartford; two grandchildren, Lisa Tharpe and her husband, Greg, of Dothan, and Christopher Owens and his wife, Jackie, of Pensacola, Fla.; seven great-grandchildren.
