The 19th annual Vina Fest will take place today at the Vina fire station, beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until 10:00 p.m.
There will be rides and games for children, as well as several arts and crafts during the event.
"This is a family day," says Vina Fest organizer Dorothy Davidson.
Also this year, music will be provided by Muscle Shoals recording artist Travis Wammack, who has played guitar on albums by such singers as Delbert McClinton, Etta James and Little Richard.
Also attending is Vina native Joseph Baldwin, who won the 2006 Panhandle Star competition and has sang at the Orchid Lounge in Nashville.
In addition to that, there will be a draw-down, with a chance to win $17,000. The draw down will take place at 6:00 p.m.
There will be 325 tickets sold for the draw-down, each sold at $100 apiece. The first ticket drawn will win $200. Tickets will then be drawn until the final one is revealed. The person with the last draw-down ticket will win their choice of $17,000, a Massey-Ferguson tractor, a John Deere tractor a fifth-wheel camper or a four-wheel package that includes a Ranger ATV.
The Vina Fest will end with a fireworks show that will begin at 10:00 p.m.
