The Alabama All-Star Sports Week begins Monday in Huntsville, and the Russellville Golden Tigers will be well represented during the week.
Two players and one coach will be participating in the events.
Monday afternoon will be a father and son affair as Russellville baseball coach David Ward will help coach the North All-Stars, which includes his son, Jake.
Jake Ward had the highest batting average for the Golden Tigers this season and has earned Alabama Baseball Coaches Association All-Star honors for two years.
He was also an honorable mention on the 2008 Alabama Sports Writers' Association All-State Team.
David Ward was named the 2006 Area Coach of the Year.
The baseball game will be played at 4 p.m. at Joe Davis Stadium in Huntsville.
Russellville basketball player Terence Smith will get the opportunity to add another accomplishment to his impressive resume when he participates in the All-Star basketball game.
Smith is coming off a junior season where he earned an All-State honorable mention and was named the Most Valuable Player of the Times Daily Tournament.
Smith is the Golden Tigers' team captain.
The basketball game will be played at 4 p.m. Thursday at Spragins Hall on the campus of the University of Alabama-Huntsville.
