Myrtle R. Bostick

Myrtle R. Bostick, 85, of Red Bay, died Friday, July 3, 2009, at Helen Keller Hospital. She was born January 9, 1924, in Franklin County to Thomas Dee and Ollie Hyde Marbutt. She was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church of Red Bay.
Visitation was 2 – 4 p.m. Sunday, July 5 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay, and the services were at 4 p.m. Sunday with Bro. Coye Marbutt officiating. Burial was at Red Bay City Cemetery.
She is survived by two children, Betty Barker and husband Wayne of Red Bay and James Bostick and wife Christie of Russellville; three grandchildren, Will Bostick, Katie Bostick and Anna Bostick, all of Russellville and one brother, Bro. Coye Marbutt and wife Lora of Tuscumbia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Bostick and her parents.
Pallbearers were Wally Poss, Kevin Barker, Brent Barker, Rick McAlister, Bobby Nelson and Ralph Winchester.
Letha Barnett

Letha Hammond Barnett, 95, of Russellville, passed away Monday, July 6, 2009.
Mrs. Barnett was a native of Grassy, Ala., and a former resident of Lauderdale County. She was an avid gardener and a long time member of Russellville First Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Reeder H. Barnett; parents, Sarah Elizabeth Hammond and David Newton Hammond; sisters, Rachel Shannon, Opha Yarbrough, Tessie Holley and Leona Gallian; brothers, Ernest Hammond, Delbert Hammond and Emmitt Hammond; grandson, David Barnett.
The 10 a.m. mausoleum funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens with Rev. Richard Parker officiating. Entombment will be in the mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
Mrs. Barnett is survived by a daughter, Sue Barnett Pilgrim and husband Fred; sons, Howard Barnett and wife Ann, Harold Barnett and wife Deborah, and Michael (Mickey) Barnett, all of Russellville; sister, Louise Oliver; grandchildren, Melinda Pilgrim Smith, Diann Pilgrim, Olive Pilgrim, Teresa Barnett Whitmire, Greg Barnett, Eric Barnett, Valerie Hedge, Cobahn C.P. Hedge, Mickie Barnett Cole, Mike Barnett, Doug Barnett; great-grandchildren, Jackson Smith, Reeder Smith, Austin Pilgrim, Morgan Pilgrim, Justin Whitmire, Josh Whitmire, Chase Reeder Barnett, Ben Bovich, Caitlin Hedge, Felicity Hedge, Cole Barnett, Abbye Barnett, Walker Barnett, Davis Barnett; great-great-grandchild, Peyton Austin Lee Rogers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the Russellville First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Freddie Eugene Whitlock, 51, of Tuscaloosa, formerly of Russellville, died Sunday, July 5, 2009, at his residence.
The graveside service was Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
