Scott capital murder trial set to begin

Jury selection begins Monday in the capital murder trial of a Russellville woman accused of killing her six year-old son last summer.
Christie Michelle Scott. 32, is accused of setting fire to her family's Signore Drive home in August 2008.
Her six year-old son, Mason Scott, was killed in the early morning blaze.
Scott and her younger son escaped the fire with no injuries. Her husband, Jeremy Scott, was out of town on a business trip at the time.
Investigators believe that Scott intentionally set the fire that killed her son.
Jury selection is set to begin Monday and could last up to five days, prosecutors said.
"The trial will begin after jury selection, which is expected to take two to five days," Franklin County District Attorney Joey Rushing said.
Testimony in the case is expected to take two to three weeks.
Rushing's office began working on the case shortly after the fire took place.
Scott was indicted on three alternating counts of capital murder in September.
She has been held in the Franklin County Detention Center without bond since that time. She will be represented by defense attorney Robert Tuten, of Huntsville.
Franklin County Circuit Judge Terry Dempsey ordered the circuit clerk's office to summon 500 prospective jurors for this case.
