Barbara Nell Wright Mitchell, 55, of Leighton, Ala. died Thursday, May 07, 2009 at Helen Keller Hospital. She was born in Colbert County, Alabama on Sunday, December 20, 1953.
She was preceded in death by her father, James W. Wright; sisters, Clarenell Wright and Doris Ann Garrett.
Funeral services were held at Akins Funeral Home Chapel on May 09, 2009 with Bro. Tony Dodd officiating. Interment will be in Antioch Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jack Brannon, Stewart Wright, Michael Nix, Brandon Nix, and Jamie Wright.
She leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Carlos Lee Mitchell; children, Valerie Vanessa McMahan and husband, Ernest, Timothy Lee Mitchell and wife, Danielle, Christopher Lee Mitchell and wife, Angie, Erica Lynn Horsley and husband, Derrick; siblings, Kathrine Snow, Harold Wright, Donald Wright, Sheila Garrett, Curtis Wright, Billy Wright, Elizabeth Eddy; grandchildren, Jacob, Theodore, Jesse, Amy, Austin and Canaan; and a host of nieces &nephews.
Our family extends special thanks to Dr. Lynn Ridgeway and Helen Keller ICU nursing staff for their care of our mother during her illness.

Kathleen L. Priola, 44, of Russellville, Ala. passed away on Wednesday, May 06, 2009 at her home. She was born in Waukegan, Illinois on Saturday, February 13, 1965.
Funeral services were held at Strang Funeral Home, Grayslake, Ill. on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, with Father Jim Merole officiating. Interment will be in the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Libertyville, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Gibbs and brother, Tommy Schnur.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Priola; father and step-mom, Sanders Harry Schnur and Dorothy Schnur; mother, Susan Wisher; father-in-law, Joseph Priola, Sr.; brother-in-law, Vincent Priola; sisters-in-law, Lynnett Anderson, Jonette Beyer; nephews, Jason and Willie Gibbs; a host of other nieces and nephews.

Leonard "Marshall" McCarley, 91, of Spruce Pine, Ala., died Friday, May 8, 2009, at Helen Keller Hospital.
Mr. McCarley was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and a self-employed home builder. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, in Russellville, where he served as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 11, 2009, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, in Russellville, with burial in Franklin Memory Gardens. Officiating was Joe Lenox, Wade Wallace, Jerome Sherrill, and Ralton McCarley.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Gussie McCarley, of Russellville; daughter, Judy Vandiver and husband, G.W., of Spruce Pine; sister, Kathleen Perry, of Streator, Ill.; brother, Leaborn McCarley and wife, Bertie, of Muscle Shoals; grandchildren, Tracy Vandiver, of Spruce Pine, Shelia Baker and husband, Tim, of Russellville; great-grandchild, Justin Cornelison and wife, Tiffany; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Josie McCarley; sister, Pauline Pounders; brothers, Woodrow, Arnie, Hugo, and Oscar.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Burns Nursing Home staff, nurses, and doctors. A special thanks to nephew, Dr. Randy Pounders.

Norman Eric Richeson, 72, of Machesney Park, Ill., died Saturday, May 9, 2009 in Rockford, Ill. at Rosewood Care Center after a long struggle with spinal cancer. Thanks to attending nurses and Passages Hospice for their care. Also thanks to special friends Lou Bowman, Bart Cagnoni, Shan Sundaram and others who comforted him in his final days. He was born January 10, 1937 in Russellville, Ala., the son of Ralph Rivers Richeson and Pearl Adell Hendrix Richeson,
He is survived by sisters Ruth Spooner and husband, Ray and Irene Sedeora and husband, Tej; brothers, Aaron Richeson and wife, Trudy and Cedric Richeson and wife, Emily; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Neil Spooner. Arriving in Rockford in 1948, Norman attended Morris Kennedy School and graduated from Rockford East High School in 1955. A member of UAW Local 592, he retired after 30 years from Sundstrand Aviation and he was a member of the Windsor Athletic Club and Lombardi Club. Motorcyclist, car buff, Chicago Bears fan, bowler, water skier and boating enthusiast, Norm will be missed by his family and many friends. Funeral services will be held at Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, Machesney Park, IL. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2009 and from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of service. Service is at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 14th, with burial to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rockford Rescue Mission, P.O. Patsy Ruth Montgomery Sparks, 66, of Russellville, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009 at her residence.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 11, 2009 at Spry Memorial Chapel. Friends and family will speak at the service. Interment will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luster and Roberta Tompkins Montgomery and her sister, Bobbie Jean Hites.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Wm. Christopher Sparks; step-daughter, Juliann Riley and husband, Stan; grandchildren, Emma Riley, Rachel Riley, Harrison Riley; sister, Janie Deaton and husband, Eddie; nephews, Dan Hites and wife, Dru, David Hites and wife, Penny, Matt Deaton, and John Deaton and wife, Kristen; neice, Paige McWilliams and husband, Barry; great nephews, Andy McWilliams and Clay Hites; great-nieces, Megan Hites and Michelle Hites; and great-great niece, Sjaan McGargar.
The pallbearers were Dan Hites, David Hites, Barry McWilliams, John Deaton, Andy McWilliams and Clay Hites. Honorary pallbearers were LeRoy Willis, Jerry Knight Grissom, Bobby Bolton, Eddie Deaton, Harold Hites and Matt Deaton.

Agnes Edith Kelley, 90, of Haleyville, Ala., passed away Friday, May 8, 2009 at Lakeland Community Hospital in Haleyville. She was a member of County Line Church.
Funeral services were held May 10, 2009 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Tommy Setliff and Terry Duncan officiating. Burial was in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
She is survived by her daughters, Janice Taylor and husband, Joe, Annice Kelley, Gale Brakefield and husband, Doug and Pat Hendrickson; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Presley and Lillie Hillhouse; husband, Opal Jessie Kelley; son-in-law, Don Hendrickson; one brother; and four sisters.

Fred Weaver Payne, 53, died Thursday, May 7, 2009 at his residence. He was born August 22, 1955 in Terrell, Ariz. to Leonard Felix and Mary Louise Warren Payne. He was a welder and attended the Church of God. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard for thirteen years.
Funeral services were held May 9, 2009 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Gene O'Brian officiating. Burial was in Ridge Cemetery in Golden, Miss.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Lillie Ann Payne, of Golden, Miss.; one son, Billy Joe Payne and wife, Jamie, of Golden, Miss.; one grandson, Braxton Joe Payne, of Golden, Miss.; one brother, Randy Payne, of Golden, Miss.; two sisters, Patricia Hollimon and husband, Tommy, of Russellville and Glenda Kiddy, of Red Bay; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Spencer and husband, Jerry, of Fulton, Miss. and Shirley Phillips and husband, Mike, of Pensacola, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leonard Carroll Payne and Bobby Gene Payne; one sister Katrina Pauline Pendergraph; one niece and one nephew.

Christine Vinson Morrow, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 7, 2009. She was born in Halltown on March 7, 1922, she was the daughter of Oscar and Dessie Vinson. She was a homemaker and mother. She was a lifelong member of New Union Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star.
Funeral services were held May 10, at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay. Burial was in Halltown Cemetery.
She is survived by four daughters, Linda Gober, of Alton Ill., Peggy Hendrix and husband, Terry, of Baldwyn, Miss., Marilyn NeSmith and husband, Jack, of Florence, and Sara Morrow, of Red Bay; seven grandchildren, Tony Shewbart and wife, Beverly, of Counce, Tenn., Jeff Shook and wife, Sherry, of Belmont, Miss., Matthew NeSmith, of Florence, marc Johnson and wife, Debra, of Birmingham, Mary Beth Al-Rouson and husband, Bil Eal, of N.C., Cindy Gober, of Alton, Ill. Morgan Gray and Montanna Gray, both of Red Bay; one sister, Magdelene Page, of Red Bay; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Sam Houston Morrow; two daughters, Jane Shewbart and Pam Hardin; grandson, Samuel Shewbart; her parents; brothers, Ellic Vinson and William Vinson; two half-brothers, Lother Hester and Fred McNatt; three sisters, Lucille Morrow, Mildred Yarber and Myrtle McLemore; three half-sisters, Mary Osborn, Blanche Lindley and Dot Bottoms.

Herman Alonzo Keeton, 86, died Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Crown Health Care and Rehabilitation in Montgomery, Ala. He was born February 17, 1923 in Red Bay to Harrison Lonzo and Lola Mae Bostick Keeton. He was a business owner and member of First Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II.
Funeral services were held May 9 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Larry Hill officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Red Bay.
He was survived by his daughters, Connie Popp and husband, Jim, of Auburn, Ala. and Nancy Long, of Montgomery, Ala.; three grandchildren, Sid Dassinger and wife, Mary Lewis, of Little Rock, Ark., Barton Dassinger and wife, Michelle, of Chicago, Ill. and Bobby Long and wife, Felicia, of Montgomery, Ala.; four great-grandchildren, Sidney Dassinger and Keeton Dassinger, of Little Rock, Ariz. and Sarah Dassinger and Sage Dassinger, of Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Jean Keeton Grisham, of Athens, Ala.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Amy Timbes Ellegde Keeton; his parents; an infant daughter; sister, Sarah Keeton Cobb; and brother, William Hoyt Keeton.

Burleigh Eugene "Sleepy" Jackson, 72, of Russellville, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2009 at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, at Spry Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Bro. James McCullar and Bro. Wayne Boyles. Interment will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Burleigh Edward and Clois Jackson; brothers, Ed Jackson, O.D. Jackson and William Jackson; and sister, Olean Shirley.
He is survived by his wife, Lynda Burcham Jackson; daughters, Pamela and husband, Gary, of Hackleburg, Deborah Barnes and husband, Mark, of Cherokee; sons, Steven Jackson, of Russellville, John Jackson, of Sheffield; step-daughter, Soni Hargett, of Russellville; grandchildren, Sabrina Wells, mark Barnes, Jr., Amber Barnes, Crystal Jackson and Tyler Jackson; great-grandchildren, Alex Wells, Hayden Wells and Logan Wells; sisters, Jeanette Ward, Lucille Herring, Emily Sellet and Linda Sexton.
He was retired from Reynolds after 31 years. He was also a member of the Iron Workers Local #377.
