Eva Bragwell Weimer, 99 Russellville, Ala., passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Russellville Health Care.
She was a native of Franklin County and member of New Friendship Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 9, 2009, 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M., at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville.
Graveside service will be Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Sweet Cemetery, Albion, Indiana with Gerald Ringenberg officiating. Burial will follow immediately after the service.
Survivors include son, Jerry Weimer and wife, Shirley, of Albion, Indiana; brother, O'Neal Bragwell, of Tuscumbia, Alabama; grandchildren Troy Weimer and wife, Casey, Tasha Weimer; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, Norman Weimer; parents, Ell and Pearl Bragwell; sisters, Maxine King and Willodean Borum.
The family wishes to express appreciation to the employees of Russellville Health Care.

Mark Landers

Mark Landers, 44, of Anchorage, died Monday, May 4, 2009 at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage.
A Celebration of Mark's Life will be held 2 pm Saturday, May 9 at ChangePoint Church. Ronald Bernier will officate. An additional service will be held at a later date in Russellville, Alabama. His cremated remains will be interred at Knight of Pythias Cemetery in Russellville, Ala.
Mark was born December 26, 1964 in Sheffield, Ala. to Marlin and Geneva Estelle (Scott) Landers. He graduated from Memphis Catholic High School and later attended Wichita State and the University of Memphis.
He moved to Alaska in 1989 and was employed at FedEx for 19 years as a courier.
He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and camping. His family wrote: "Mark was a loving son, father and friend. He was friendly, easy-going and full of energy. He enjoyed helping others, took pride in his work and accomplishments. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, reading, and keeping up with current events. His favorite author was John Grisham and he had a penchant for watching the Six O'clock news and 60 Minutes. Mark was a wonderful son and will be missed immensely.
Mark is survived by his sons, Cody C. Landers, and Amado R. Cordero, both of Anchorage; his former wife, Rosie Cordero, of Anchorage; his mother, Estelle Landers, of Anchorage; step-father, Jack Scheeper, of Memphis, Tenn. his father and step-mother, Marlin and June Landers, Brentwood, Tenn., and by his extended family of the Cordero family of Anchorage; Frank and Lucie Herring, of Douglasville, GA; and by his beloved pets, Otis and Amigo.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harold and Arlene Scott; his paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Gladys Hellums, and his best friend, Rebel.

Freddie Palmer Parker

Freddie Palmer Parker, 73, of Russellville, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at his home.
A graveside service was held May 8, at Antioch Cemetery with Bro. Roger Bond officiating.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mabel Parker; brother, Preston Parker; and infant brother, William Chester Parker.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Parker; children, Doug Parker, Melody Emerson, Tracie Parker and Kevin Parker; sisters, Pauline Kimbrough and Doris Montgomery; brothers, Buford Parker and Boyd Parker; and grandchildren, Alishua Smith, Joey Smith, Cheyenne Goins and Cory Goins.
He was a member of Siloam Baptist Church and a longtime resident of Russellville. He was neighborly to all.

James Engelthaler

James Robert Engelthaler, 78, of Russellville, died at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital on Monday, May 4, 2009. He was born on December 20, 1930 in Chicago, Ill. and grew up in Yorktown, Ill. He lived for the past 44 years in Russellville. He was a nine year veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Korean War on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Tarawa.
Mr. Engelthaler was preceded in death by his parents. Myrtle (Todnem) Johnson and George Engelthaler.
He is survived by Marie Engelthaler and their three children, Terry Engelthaler of Russellville; Jerry Engelthaler (Shonea) of Haleyville; and Jim Engelthaler (Ruth) of Florence; grandchildren, Matthew Engelthaler, Andrea Engelthaler, and James Taylor Engelthaler; sisters, LInda (Ron) Girndle, Linnea (Ron) Lavendar, and Kathy (Mike) Heiman; and brothers, Peter (Martha) Johnson, J.T. (Meredith) Johnson, and Mark (Ruth) Johnson; many nieces and nephews; and special cousins, Junior Horton, Dick Ellis and Betty Todnem Caldwell.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 8, 2009 with Rev. Phillip Faris officiating. Burial was in the Blue Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Phil Campbell.
Pallbearers included Terry Ergle, David Ergle, Matt Engelthaler, Terry Engelthaler, Jerry Engelthaler, and Jim Engelthaler.
The family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses who cared for and treated Mr. Engelthaler over his extended illness. A special thanks to William A. Hobbs, M.D. and to the nurses and staff in the ECM Emergency Department and CCU.
