Two fires blaze in city Wednesday

Officials with the Russellville Fire Department are still investigating one of the two fires that erupted Wednesday afternoon.
Fire Marshall Bobby Malone said a fire at 1009 Lawrence Street has been ruled an electrical fire.
"We believe it was an electrical fire that started in the bedroom," Malone said. "The fire was contained to one area of the house."
Officials on the scene said the no one was home when the fire occurred, and no injuries were reported in the fire.
Malone said the fire at FMI, located on East Lawrence Street, seems to be accidental, but the interviews have not been completed so how the fire ignited has not been disclosed.
"It was an accidental fire, but we are not ready to release the exact cause of the fire just yet," Malone said. "We are still conducting interviews in the case, but we are sure the fire was started accidentally."
Firefighters were dispatched to FMI shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday. Once on the scene, the fire was found in the loading area of the plant.
"The damage was minimal," Chief Joe Mansell said. "We were able to keep the fire from penetrating into the building."
No injuries were reported at the FMI fire.
Firefighters stayed on the scene at both fires to make sure the fires were extinguished, and to provide proper ventilation to the buildings.
