Martha Jane Holder, 66, of Russellville, Ala, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2009, at Russellville Health Care.
Funeral services were Sunday, March 10 at Spry Memorial Chapel in Russellville with Bro. Johnny Richardson officiating. Interment was in Spruce Pine Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lona and Edward King; husband, Marshall Holder; grandparents, Preston and Goldie Roberts, Auther and Minnie King; and brother, E.J. King.
She is survived by her sons, Mike Pounders and Jerry Pounders; sisters, Betty Mills and husband, J.B., Barbara Hooker, Stella Prince and husband, Alvin; brother, Jerry King and wife, Lynn; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The pallbearers were Jimmy Roberts, John Sheffield, Curtis Baker, Shane Baker, Eric Mills and Jerry King Jr.

Wiley Earl Brown, 69, of Haleyville, Ala., passed away Monday, March 9, 2009, at his residence. He was a Freewill Baptist.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 11 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Billy Brasher officiating. Interment will be in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Fayrene Frederick Brown; daughter, Tammy Benton and husband Steven; sister, Catherine Gravitt; and grandchildren, Akira Jackson, Paige Benton, Alana Benton and Addison Benton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Rosie Bell Brown; sister, Nellie O'Kelley; and brothers, Kenneth and Clyde Brown.

John Athel Taylor, 94, of Russellville, Ala., passed away Monday, March 9, 2009. He was a member of Eastside Church of Christ.
The 11 a.m. funeral service will be Wednesday, March 11 at Akins Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville with Bro. Johnnie Richardson officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Memory Gardens.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma James Taylor; parents, Thomas and Alice Taylor; and 11 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn Herring and husband Lester; and granddaughter, Audrey Ruth Herring.
The family extends special thanks to all his caretakers.

Gimilla Gertrude Barker, 97, of Red Bay, Ala., passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009, at the Care Center of Red Bay.
She was born Nov. 8, 1911, in Alabama to Thomas Icy and Susie Barksdale Belcher. She was the owner and operator of Barker's Grocery Store in Atwood for 45 years. She was a member of Red Bay Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 11 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Tim Scott officiating. Burial will be in Holly Springs Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by husband, Ralph E. Barker; daughter, Joyce Holcomb; her parents; four sisters; and two brothers.
She is survived by her sons, Wayne Barker and wife Betty of Red Bay and Dennis Barker and wife Diana of Golden, Miss.; grandchildren, Kevin Barker, Brent Barker, Karen Bowen, Dale Holcomb and Christy Bennett; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Henry Deaton, 58, of Red Bay, Ala., passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009, at Red Bay Hospital.
He was born Dec. 7, 1950 in Alabama to Archie and Beatrice Pardue Deaton. He was employed at Sunshine Mills for 33 years.
Funeral services were Tuesday, March 10 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. John Stockton and Bro. Mickey Trammel officiating. Burial was in Joel Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Deaton; his parents; and sister, Earlene Carlisle.
He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Tepper and Amanda Brazil and husband Brandon, both of Red Bay, and Misty Spencer and husband Charles of Tishomingo, Miss.; brothers, Gene Deaton and wife Sue, Steve Deaton and wife Peggy, all of Dennis, Miss., Edward Deaton of Scottsboro, Donald Deaton and wife Brenda of Golden, Miss., and Lester Deaton and wife Deresia of Red Bay; sister, Linda Holland and husband June of Vina; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Tim Deaton, Andy Deaton, June Holland, Rodney Strickland, James Evetts and Jacob Pfeiffer.

Rita Renae Ergle, 51, of Phil Campbell, Ala., passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009, at her home surrounded by her family.
Funeral services were Tuesday, March 10 at Akins Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville with Bro. David Motes officiating. Interment will be in East Franklin Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Resa Ergle, Johnny Ergle, Zachary Williams, Harold Taylor, Billy Ray Fretwell and Frankie Tidwell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Fretwell and Margie Kimbrough Fretwell, and grandson, Alexander Pinkard.
She is survived her husband, Clifford Ergle; daughters, Misty George and husband Byrne, Julie Baskins and husband Ken; sisters, Fredia Berryman and husband Wayne and Sherry Pennington and husband Jimmy; brothers, Jackie Fretwell and wife Valorie and Byron Fretwell and wife Debra; eight grandchildren, Savannah and Jagger Mills, Isabella and Isaac Pickard, Morgan George and Chastity, Chailey and Chandler Baskins.

Billie Jean Hamilton Rowlett, 84, of Russellville, Ala., went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 7, 2009.
"Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels and have not charity (love), I am become as sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal." She always showed love for those she came in contact both within the family and those she came in contact with in her many travels throughout the world. She always ready to land a helping hand with a ready smile wherever it was needed.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 11 at Spry Memorial Chapel in Russellville. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 12 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. DeWayne Crumley officiating. Interment will be in Franklin Memory Gardens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett Roy Hamilton and Della Lee Hamilton, and grandson, Michael Massey.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ray L. Bowlett of Russellville; son, Jimmy Rowlett and wife Linda of Hurst, Texas; daughters, Donna Entrekin and husband Billy of Belgreen and Janet Massey and husband A.C. of North Richland Hills, Texas; step-son, John Edd Rowlett and wife Patsy of Bartlesville, Okla.; brothers, Del Roy Hamilton of Yukon, Okla., James Hamilton and wife Colleen of Roswell, N.M., Don Hamilton and wife Ernestine of Clovis, N.M., and Rev. Garland Hamilton and wife Charlene of El Paso, Texas; sisters, Tina Golightly of Portales, N.M., and Pauline Heflin and husband Don of Portales, N.M.; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the members of North Russellville Baptist Church for their care and concern for Billie and Ray since moving here from New Mexico in 2003. You all have been a great source of strength and encouragement for them. We would also like to thank Russellville Health Care for their excellent care since the last of March 2008, when she suffered her massive stroke. You will always have a special place in our hearts.

Jerry Oneal Kimbrough, 66, of Russellville, Ala., passed away Friday, March 6, 2009, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church and a retired Navy veteran.
Funeral services were Sunday, March 8 at Akins Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville with Bro. Dan Hindman, Bro. Phillip Potter, Bro. Gary Phillips and Bro. Truman Kimbrough officiating. Interment was in Franklin Memory Gardens with military honors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luster Oneal Kimbrough and Lillian Lucille Kimbrough; sister, Myra Erwin and husband McDaniel; and brother, Elsbie Ray Kimbrough.
He is survived his wife, Dory Guardiano Kimbrough; sons, Virgil Oneal Kimbrough and Jeremy Kyle Kimbrough; daughters, Charlotte Dianne Turner and Jennifer Rose Stephenson; sister, Nina Elaine Phillips; brother, Truman Kimbrough; and seven grandchildren.

George Ray Vines, 49, of Olive Branch, Miss., and formerly of Franklin County, Ala., passed away Friday, March 6, 2009.
He was a native of Franklin County, but had lived in Olive Branch for the past 20 years. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Funeral services were Monday, March 9 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Russellville with Dewayne Woodall officiating. Burial was in Union Hill Cemetery.
He is survived by his children, Savannah Vines and Tyler Vines of Chattanooga, Tenn.; sisters, Deborah Johnson of Dallas, Texas, Tina Carpenter of Decatur and Linda Fretwell of Muscle Shoals; brothers, Douglas Carpenter of Haleyville and Wade Carpenter of Phil Campbell; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Orlando Greenhaw, Chad Simmons, Larry Taylor, Mark Taylor, Larry Thomas and Jimmy Wehunt.
He was preceded in death by stepfather and mother, James Loyd Carpenter and Judith Ann Carpenter.

James Cleburn "Coffeeman" Jones, 77, of Haleyville, Ala., passed away Friday, March 6, 2009 at Lakeland Community Hospital.
He served in the United States Air Force, was a retired salesman with Standard Coffee Co. and belonged to Waldrop Freewill Baptist Church.
His wife, Dorthy Jones preceded him in death in 2007.
Graveside services were Sunday, March 8 at Winston Memorial Cemetery in Haleyville with Ron Horton officiating.
He is survived by his children, Randy Jones and wife Beverly and Sandy Montgomery and husband Jimmy; sisters, Burnice Victory and Martha Nell Robles; brother, Davis Jones; granddaughter, Jamie Wakefield and husband Craig; and great-grandchildren, Grant and Gracie Wakefield.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Campbell; children, Larry Wayne Campbell, Wanda Hood, Kay Searles, Donald Allen Campbell and Patricia DeFoor; sisters, Peggy McMicken and Barbara Parker; brother, Marlin Jack; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Jeffery Cleve Thompson, 57, passed away Monday, March 2, 2009, at his residence in Red Bay, Ala.
He was born June 29, 1951, in Galion, Ohio, to Cleve William and Maxine Thompson, and he was a carpenter.
Funeral services were Saturday, March 7 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Curtis Taylor officiating. Burial was in Dempsey Cemetery in Russellville.
He is survived by his wife, Vicky Thompson of Red Bay; children, Patricia Ruggieri and husband Tom of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Tammy Wright and husband Jimmy of Vina; mother, Maxine Thompson of Georgia; sister, Jenny Darling of North Carolina; brothers, Phillip Clipse and Clarence White, both of Florida; grandchildren, Jonathan Wright and Shana Ruggieri; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; son, Stacy Thompson; and granddaughter, Jami Lynn Ruggieri.

Lonnie "T.J." Reed Jr., 69, of Red Bay, Ala., passed away Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at Helen Keller Hospital in Sheffield.
He was born Dec. 1, 1939 in Detroit to Zack and Gladys Terry Reed, and he was a mechanic.
There were no funeral services.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Kathleen Morris and Wyvonnia Long.
He is survived by his sons, Ryan Reed of Waterford, Wis., Don Reed and wife Carol of Burlington, Wis., and Patrick Reed of Alabama; sisters, Ruth Swindle and Belvie Ferdon, both of Golden, Miss., Lee Reed of Knoxville, Tenn., and Tina Darracott of Red Bay; special friend, Venda Roberson; and grandchildren, Brett Reed, Shawn Reed, Bayden Six and Braylon Roberson.
