Olivia Lawrence "Beddie" Green

Olivia Lawrence "Beddie" Green was born Jan. 26, 1934, in Marion County, Ala. She passed away Sunday, March 1, 2009, at the age of 75. She was a member of South Haleyville Baptist Church.
Funeral services were Wednesday, March 4 at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Haleyville. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery in Haleyville.
She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Green Fowler; son-in-law, David Fowler; granddaughter, Annalisa Fowler; and sister, Geneva DeFoor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Martha Lawrence; husband, Elvis Green; and sisters, Shirley Dean Lawrence, Johnnie Belle Gray and Bessie Lee Dermyer.
Royal Ralph "Rat" Smith
March 2, 2009
Royal Ralph "Rat" Smith was born Feb. 2, 1919, in Walker County, Ala. He passed away Monday, March 2 at Walker Baptist Hospital in Jasper at the age of 90. He was a member of Arley Congregational Church in Arley.
Funeral services were Wednesday, March 4 at Arley Congregational Church with Robert Partidge and Bobby Smith officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Gladys Smith and Maire Smith; parents, Crockett and Ella Smith; and brothers and sisters, Maude Trusell, Pearl Crews, Elton Smith, J.C. Smith, Cordelia Williams, Lola Benson and Elsie League.
Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville assisted the family.
Sharon Dozard

Sharon Dozard, 70, of Russellville, Ala., passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009.
The 11 a.m. funeral service will be Saturday, March 7 in the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Lumpkin officiating. Interment will be in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rhonda Kopsic; parents, Earl and Flora Crooks Rogers; and brother, Earl "Skip" Rogers.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Dozard; daughters, Robin Wolfe and husband Donald, Regina Cummings and husband Justin, Rita Fox and husband David and Andrea Dozard and husband Justin Welker; sisters, Gloria Hastings and Judy Hastings; brother, Jim Rogers; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
The family expresses their sincere appreciation and thanks to Dr. Wesley Marchman, Dr. Edsel Holden and the ICU staffs at Shoals Hospital and ECM Hospital.
Akins Funeral Home assisted the family.
Jack D. Hamilton

Jack Douglas Hamilton, 85, of Belgreen, Ala., passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence.
He was a lifetime resident of Franklin County and member of Belgreen Church of Christ. He served in the Army during World War II and was a retired barber.
A graveside service was Friday, March 6 at Belgreen Cemetery with Jackie Richardson officiating. Burial immediately followed the service.
He is survived by his daughter, Judy Hovater and husband Ronnie of Russellville; sister, Sybil Cunningham of Belgreen; brother, Bob Hamilton and wife Jerri of Russellville; several nieces and nephews; and his pet dog, Tooter.
Pallbearers were John Barber, Mike Hargett, John Payne, Ted Post, Bob Seay, Troy King and Ray Hamilton.
Honorary pallbearers were his coffee break friends from Jack's in Russellville.
He was preceded in death by wife, Bettye Taylor Hamilton; son, Jack Douglas Hamilton Jr.; grandson, Kevin Douglas Hovater; parents, D. C. and Elizabeth Hamilton; and brother, Bill Hamilton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Belgreen Cemetery Fund, 1575 Highway 49, Russellville, AL 35653

George C. "Bubba" Moore Jr.

George C. "Bubba" Moore Jr., 44, of Nauvoo, Ala., passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2009. He was the husband to Peggy Tittle Moore.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 7 at 2 p.m. at Old Union Baptist Church in Pondville. The burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

William Charles Collins

William Charles Collins, 64, of Russellville, Ala., passed away Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Walker Baptist Hospital in Jasper.
He loved his family and friends. He enjoyed gospel music and his favorite pastime was to attend gospel singings. He spent time at Terrance Manor Nursing Home visiting his mother, friends and employees. He would entertain them with his beautiful piano playing.
He was preceded in death by his dad, William Charles Collins, and and sister, Barbara Gail Ivey.
He is survived by his son, Steve Collins; four grandchildren; mother, Velma Louise Collins; sisters, Linda Posey and husband Larry of Cherokee, Marilyn Mayfield and husband Jerry of Russellville and Sharron Lindsey and husband Tony of Russellville; brothers, Larry Collins and wife Brenda of Russellville, Donald Collins and wife Linda of Hodges and Jerry Collins and wife Wanda of Newnan, Ga; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Spry Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will be follow at 11 a.m. at Franklin Memorial Gardens with Rev. Pat Murray officiating.
