Russellville boys dominate second half to beat Florence

The Russellville varsity boys basketball team improved to 18-5 Tuesday night with an impressive 82-59 victory against Florence.
The Golden Tigers opened the game on a 9-2 run to take an early lead, but Florence battled back and cut the score to 15-10 during the second quarter.
Nate Dunstan had a scoring streak in the second, recording eight consecutive points for Russellville to help the Golden Tigers build a 10-point lead. Once again Florence rallied and cut the deficit to four points before Russellville pulled away and took a 38-30 advantage into halftime.
Russellville continued its momentum after the break and outscored the Falcons 20-8 in the third quarter to put the game away for good.
Dunstan led the Golden Tigers with 23 points while Jermaine Bates added 20 and Terence Smith scored 17.
Also scoring for Russellville were Darrian Graham (9), Will Bostick (7) and Chase Johnson (6).
Russellville will host Tanner tonight in its final home game of the regular season. The Golden Tigers will travel to Colbert County Saturday.
Florence 64,
Russellville 42
Russellville's Tasha West scored every point in an 11-0 run against Florence in the fourth quarter of Tuesday's game, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Golden Tigers fell to the Lady Falcons 64-42.
By the time West began the rally, Russellville was already trailing by 29 points.
Florence jumped out to a big lead early and led 16-7 after the first quarter. The Lady Falcons extended the lead to 18 points by halftime and 26 after three quarters of action.
West scored a game-high 21 points while Erin Reynolds added 13 points.
Also scoring for the Lady Golden Tigers were Amber Elliot with four points and Taylor Smith with three points.
