New president, new day for America

By Staff
History was made Tuesday with the swearing in of Barack Obama as America's 44th president.
As a new president took office, a period of hope was ushered in.
The hope is that our country can continue to make progress and address the issues that most threaten the health, safety, and development of youth.
In this time of almost constant concern over the state of our nation, the inauguration of a new president ushers in, at least briefly, a period of hope.
Hope for a better economy, for progress in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Middle East, and for improvements in everything from climate change to education to Social Security to health care.
Optimism abounds even as things seem to be falling down all around us.
It's the American way.
It's a new start for us all to come together and work for a better nation and world.
