June Hyde Boyd, 79, of Russellville, Ala., passed away Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Russellville. She also belonged to the Daughters of the American Revolution, National Society of Colonial Dames and Alabama Retired State Employees Association.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Jan. 13 at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville with Clint Busler officiating. Burial was in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas D. and Burnie Hyde and brother, Thomas S. Hyde.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, James Fay Boyd; children, Judy Boyd Mills and husband John, Connie Boyd Elmore and husband Glen and Jeanne Boyd Hester and husband Don; grandchildren, Russ Elmore, Mandee Elmore Davis and husband Billy, Ellie Hester, Laura Mills, Kerry Hester and wife Keri and Katie Elmore; and great-grandchildren, Dakota Hughes and Carter Davis.
Pallbearers were John Mills, Glen Elmore, Don Hester, Russ Elmore, Billy Davis and Kerry Hester.
The family wishes to express its heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Brad McAnalley, Dr. Laurence Carmichael, Hospice of North Alabama and special caregivers Nancy and Jerry Hulsey and Kelly Dunbar.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Russellville.

Bertie U. Scott, 81, of Phil Campbell, Ala., died Sunday, Jan.11, 2009, at Russellville Hospital. She was a native of Tupelo, Miss., but had lived in Franklin County for most of her life.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14 at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel in Russellville with Brian Scott officiating. Burial will be in Old Line Cemetery in Hodges.
She is survived by her children, Peggy Fugate of Phil Campbell, Virgil Scott of Spruce Pine, Paul Scott of Spruce Pine and Glenda Malinowski of West Chicago, Ill.; brother, L.T. Holmes of Red Bay; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephew.
Pinkard Funeral Home assisted the family.

Marcine Mitchell Swinney, 88, of Phil Campbell, Ala., passed away Monday, January 12, 2009.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Akins Funeral Home in Russellville with Bro. Jerry Pounders, Bro. Joe Holmes, Bro. Micky Crane and Bro. Carl James officiating. Interment will be in Liberty Hill Cemetery.
The pallbearers will be her grandsons, Tony Swinney, Kevin Swinney, Barry Cook, Brian Cook, John Swinney, Justin Swinney and Clint Frederick. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Murphy, Randy Voyles, Heath Ayers, Robbie Tidwell, Timmy Trapp, Scott Thomas and Tim Heath.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Buren E. Swinney; parents, Joseph and Ida Galloway Mitchell; brothers, Bill Mitchell, Lem Mitchell, Byron Mitchell and Fred "Ted" Mitchell; sisters, Maude Duke, Dessie Britton and Mattie Moon; and granddaughter, Tammy Swinney.
She is survived by her children, Dural Swinney and wife Joan, Charles Swinney and wife Elise, Delois Cook and husband Floyd, Carolyn Robbins and husband Kermit, Gary Lee Swinney, Donny Swinney and wife Carol, Glen Swinney and wife Jane and Myra Frederick and husband Tim; sister, Dorothy Taylor; sisters-in-law, Flossie Collier and Edna Mitchell; grandchildren, Tony Swinney and wife Wendy Swinney; grandchildren, Tony Swinney and wife Wendy, Pam Murphy and husband Joe, Laura Voyles and husband Randy, Amy Ayers and husband Heath, Kevin Swinney, Barry Cooke and wife Tracey, Brian Cook, Beverly Tidwell and husband Robbie, Debbie Heath and husband Tim, Sherry Trapp and husband Timmy, Dana Thomas and husband Scott, John Swinney, Katie Frederick, Kasie Frederick, Clint Frederick, Justin Swinney and Hannah Swinney; great-grandchildren, Trey, Amber, Brandon and wife Charity, Joshalyn, Kaylie, Jacob, Hope, Faith Alson, Megan, Meridith, Chasity, Ty, Lauren, Andrew, Meagan, Hunter, Brandy, Jacob and Hannah; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Dr. William Hobbs, the caregivers at Glenwood Rehabilitation and all the nurses and employees at ECM Hospital 5th West.
