Two Colbert County men face burglary and theft charges in Franklin County after law enforcement officials found items from a store theft at their residences.
Franklin County Sheriff Larry Plott said Gregory Len Ayers, 39, of 2450 Lagrange Road in Leighton, and Danny Fisher, Jr., 27, of 5355 Lagrange Mountain Road in Leighton, were charged with third-degree burglary and first-degree theft of property.
"We found a lot of the items taken, and returned it to the store," Plott said.
Plott said an estimated $5,000 to $6,000 worth of items were taken from Stidham's Feed Store, located on Highway 43 north of Russellville.
Plott said items taken from the store included numerous pair of boots, Carhartt clothing for adults and children and specialty items ordered for Christmas.
According to the Alabama Criminal Code, third-degree burglary and first-degree theft of property are Class C felonies, which carry a sentence of one year to 10 years in prison upon conviction.
Fisher was released on a $3,500 bond. Ayers was released on a $5,000 bond.
