Bates earns Player of the Week

Although the Russellville varsity boys basketball team got off to a late start this season, one Golden Tiger is playing in mid-season form.
Jermaine Bates cranked out 21 points Saturday at Tanner to lead the Golden Tigers to a 78-74 win against the Rattlers.
Two nights later Bates scored a game-high 17 points against Muscle Shoals to help Russellville top the Trojans in area play.
Thanks to Bates' scoring effort the Golden Tigers are 2-0 overall and have not lost a regular-season game since early 2007.
