MOUNT HOPE – The Belgreen varsity girls basketball team extended its season-opening winning streak to five games and move to 3-0 in area play as the Lady Bulldogs cruised past Mount Hope.
Amber Smith led the way with 18 points during the 50-28 victory.
"I'm tickled we started out like this so far," said Belgreen coach Shauna Humphries.
Mount Hope opened the scoring, taking an early 2-0 lead, but it was the only time the Lady Jackets would hold a lead during the game as Smith answered with a 3-pointer to give the Lady Bulldogs the lead for good.

The Lady Bulldogs pushed their advantage to 32-4 before Mount Hope began a small rally to cut the halftime deficit to 36-15.
