Helen Marie Johnson, 86, of Summerville, S.C., widow of Billy Johnson, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2008 at a Summerville hospital.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, Nov. 23 at Colbert Memorial Gardens a 10 a.m. Flowers will be accepted.
She was born Jan. 10, 1922, in Nortonville, Ky, a daughter of the late Lawson Phaup and Willie Pearl Dillingham Phaup. She was a housewife and a kindergarten teacher.
She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Schaefer and husband Tommy Harkleroad of Summerville, S.C., and Shirley Green Pearson and husband Wayne Pearson of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Erik Pearson, Corey and Tyler Green and Kayla, Alexander and Christopher Schaefer; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Donnie Joe Johnson; sisters, Betty Cook and Jo Ann Rainwater; and brothers, J. D., Kenneth and Charles Phaup.
Parks Funeral Home in Summerville assisted the family.
