Coats for Kids campaign underway

With winter and the holiday season now upon us, the chamber of commerce is reaching out its hands to help those in need.
The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce is partnering with several local businesses and organizations to collect winter coats for children throughout the county.
The "Coats for Kids" drive is a way for local residents to donate new and used coats and jackets to area children.
"I just wanted to find a way that we could help our children and the community over the holidays," said Cheryl Bradford, executive director of the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce.
The chamber is co-sponsoring the drive with the Russellville Wal-Mart Supercenter.
The new or almost new coats may be dropped off at any of the following locations: Wal-Mart Supercenter, Franklin County Chamber of Commerce, Phil Campbell Rescue Squad, Vina City Hall, Red Bay City Hall, Reece's Quick Stop in Tharptown, East Franklin Junior High School, Belgreen School and Hodges Senior Center.
"Wherever the coats are dropped off, the kids in that community will receive them," Bradford said.
"Anything left over will be donated to the Russellville Christmas Mission for those children."
The coats will be given to children in kindergarten through the fourth grade.
