Last week, our nation, our county and our cities all got a new start.
We elected a new president Tuesday that is a break from anything we have ever known in Washington. This will be a fresh start for us all and a chance to fix things that need repaired.
Locally, we swore in new city council members throughout the county and elected two new county commissioners.
There may have never been a time when change was the overriding theme of elections such was the case in 2008.
It is apparent that people are ready for something new, both nationally and locally.
Now, we have an opportunity to all work together with a fresh start. Sometimes change is needed even when it's not really needed.
