Two arrested on burglary charges

The Russellville Police Department arrested two suspects for burglary earlier this week.
Police Chief Chris Hargett said Donna Cameron, 39, of 45534 Highway 56 in Russellville, was arrested when her vehicle crashed in Colbert County. Cameron and Troy Eugene Dawson, 37, of the same address, were pursued by police into Colbert after being seen leaving Video and Varmints Saturday night after allegedly breaking into the business.
"Officers saw the suspects leaving the business and a chase ensued," Hargett said. "The chase led into the county, and ultimately in Colbert County where the vehicle crashed."
Hargett said Cameron, who was the driver, was taken into custody, while Dawson fled the scene on foot. Dawson was arrested the next day at his residence.
Both Cameron and Dawson were charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, first-degree theft of property, first-degree receiving stolen property and third-degree attempted burglary.
Hargett said the attempted burglary charge stems from an attempted burglary at a local Parade station.
Both Dawson and Cameron were transferred to the Franklin County Detention Center pending a $12,500 bond.
