Howe earns Player of Week with 4 TDs

The Russellville football team kept its hopes for the No.-2 seed in Class 5A, Region 8 alive Friday with a 49-21 victory against East Limestone.
Quarterback Joey Howe was a big part of the victory, accounting for four of the Golden Tigers' seven touchdowns.
He was 10-of-15 passing for 194 yards and three scores. He also had a rushing touchdown.
His first score was a 5-yard pass to Nathan McAlister in the first quarter. His second touchdown was a 51-yard strike to Brent Calloway to give Russellville a 28-7 lead seconds before halftime.
Howe's rushing touchdown came on a 2-yard run with seven minutes remaining in the third quarter.
He added one more score as time expired in the third quarter to put Russellville ahead 49-14 when he found Jyran Darby for a 13-yard pass.
