PHIL CAMPBELL – A Phil Campbell woman has been signed by a Nashville recording studioto record a song.
Singer Patricia Gentry signed a contract with 145 Music Group in Nashville to record the song "I Hope You See Him In Me."
"This is a fantastic song and deserves much more attention than it has received," Paul Martin, 145 Music Group's A&R director, said. "We will not only be re-recording this song, but we will be releasing the song to the radio market for the Gentrys."
The song was previously released on a CD project and was written by Don Gentry, Patricia's husband.
The song earned Patricia a Golden Harp award in 2007, and Don received Songwriter of the Year for the song.
The new recording will include the best session players in Nashville and will be engineered by Dove Award winning engineer Rick Delima.
Don said the song is expected to be recorded in November, but it's not known when it will hit the airwaves.
"They just like the song," Don said. "I don't know what it's going to do."
The contract came as a result of the Gentry's appearance in Louisville for the Gospel Quartet Convention.
"We had a lot of sponsors who made that trip happen, and we thank them," Don said. "They are the ones that made this happen."
Patricia has spent several years performing for local churches. She also spends time on the road performing at different venues as opportunities arise.
