Wildcats lose to Brilliant

The Tharptown football team hosted Brilliant for homecoming Friday but it was the Tigers that walked off the field celebrating thanks to a 34-7 victory over the Wildcats.
Brilliant (2-4,1-4) was able to keep Tharptown (1-5, 1-4) out of end zone during the first half, but Brandon Cothrum found Manny Ricardo for a 10-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter for the Wildcats only score of the game.
It was a bitter loss for Tharptown after earning its first win of the season last week at Mount Hope as the Wildcats hoped to use that game to build momentum and get a winning streak going.
The Wildcats will be on the road next week to play Shoals Christian.
