Carolyn Yvonne Jones, 51, of Hackleburg, passed away Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008.
Funeral services were Sept. 28 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Michael Frederick officiating. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery in Hamilton.
She is survived by her special friend, Debbie Albright of Hackleburg; sisters, Patricia Colley of Pine Mountain, Ga., and Doris Bruce of Sardis, Miss.; brothers. J.D. Jones of Hackleburg and Howard Jones of Hamilton; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Howard and Macie Lou Jones.
Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville assisted the family.
Howard Taft Renfroe

Howard Taft Renfroe, 74, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008 at the North Ms. Medical Center in Hamilton. He was born June 24, 1934 in Vina to Newman Taft and Grace Pannell Renfroe.
He was retired as a mechanic with American Can Co. after 32 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and he received a Purple Heart while serving in the Korean Conflict.
Funeral services were Sept. 27 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. John Oliver officiating.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Wilma Renfroe of Red Bay; son, Michael Renfroe of Tupelo, Miss.; sisters, Nell Lindsey, Dean Tesseneer (Sid) and Evelyn Davis (Harold), all of Red Bay, and Martha Milton (Jesse) of Little Rock, Ark.; brothers, Ralph Renfroe (Elizabeth) of Golden, Miss., Billy Renfroe of Red Bay and David Renfroe (Glinda) of Tremont, Miss.; and brother-in-law, George Mink of Zion, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Renfroe; parents; sister, Elois Mink; brother-in-law, Troy Lindsey; niece, Amanda Renfroe; and nephews, Timmy Renfroe, Terry Renfroe, Rodney Renfroe and Dennis Lindsey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Deaton Funeral Home assisted the family.
Jim Leon Green

Jim Leon Green, 61, died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2008 at his residence in Golden, Miss. He was born Oct. 23, 1946 in Arkansas to James T. and Junita Gale Green. He was a U.S. Army veteran for 17 years and served in Vietnam.
Funeral services were Sept. 29 at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay with Bro. Jerry Ginn and Bro. Kerry Peden officiating. Burial was in Salem Cemetery in Golden.
He is survived by his wife, Dulcie Green of Golden; children, Stephanie April Green, Richard Leon Green and Elizabeth Ellen Green, all of Golden; and brother, Donald Green, of Fulton, Miss.

Manuel Arthur Southerland

Manuel Arthur "Butch" Southerland, 61, of Hamilton and formerly of Lynn, passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2008. He worked at Piggly Wiggly in Haleyville and attended Nauvoo Church of God.
Funeral services were Sept. 28 at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville with Joey Vick and Johnny Sims officiating. Burial was in Old Enon Cemetery in Lynn.
He is survived by his sisters, Wilma Jean Thomas and Marlene Anne Bailey; brother, Billy Ray Southerland; and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Earnest Levia May Edwards Bittinger; father, Elton Perno Sutherland; and brother, Joseph Bittinger.

Sue Ann Williams, 72, of Russellville passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2008 at Russellville Health Care.
Funeral services were Sept. 2 8 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jim Lumpkin officiating. Burial was in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Bass (Mark); son, Carl Williams (Laura) of Virgina; grandchildren, Larry Cothrum, Joanie Hall, Chris Williams and Gary Williams; great-grandchildren, Brandon Cothrum, Braden Hall and Brooklyn Hall; brother, Jerry King of Tennessee; sister, Martha King; and severa nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Brett Hall, Larry Cothrum, Brandon Cothrum, Chris Williams, Gary Williams and Mark Bass.

Dorothy P. Jackson Burleson, 84, of Russellville passed away Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008 at ECM Hospital.
She was a foster grandparent for 16 years, Foster Grandparent of the Year in 2006 and a member of North Highlands Church of Christ.
Funeral services were Sept. 29 at Spry Memorial Chapel with Bro. Keith Barnett officiating. Burial was in Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Pearl Pounders; husband, William T. Jackson; four brothers; five sisters; granddaughter, Cindy Kimbrough; and great-great grandchildren, Jordan Smith and Jayden Smith.
She is survived by her daughters, Freida Swindle and Janice (Charlie) Daniels; grandchildren, Julie (Terry) Moore, Stephanie (Steve) Gandy, Jeffery (Jonna) Smith; step-grandchildren, Marla Corbell, Patrick Daniels and Laura Hall; great-grandchildren, Brian Kimbrough, Elizabeth Moore, Kelley Moore, Abby Moore, Andrew Moore, Lauren Murray and Jackson Smith; step-great-grandchildren, Paige Daniels, Danny Hall and Lee Hall; great-great-grandchild, Madison Kimbrough; sisters, Bernice King and Doris Barber; special friend and longtime companion, Burnese Burleson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Clarence "C.A." Arnold Sr. 80, of Deatsville passed away Tuesday, Sept. 30 at his residence.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Oct. 2 at Gassett Funeral Home Chapel in Wetumpka with Bro. Jeff Henderson and Bro. Jason Cicero officiating. Interment will follow in Pine View Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Delores Fergerson Burcham; son, Clarence "Bud" Arnold (Sheilah) Burcham Jr.; daughter, Freida Davis; brother, Acey (Joy) Burcham; sister, Barbara Wall; grandchildren, Brian (Jennifer) Davis, Mike (Kammy) Davis, Amy (Brandon) Scott and Michael (Nina) Morris; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Scott, Mike Davis, Brian Davis, Josh Davis, Hunter Scott and Johnny Posey. Honorary pallbearers will be the church elders he served the Lord with at Perry Hill Road Church of Christ.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time on Thursday.
