Red Bay company collects 'fans for folks'

A Red Bay company has gathered 50 fans to provide to local residents for the hot summer months.
Gates Corporation collected 50 fans and $500 to help those in need this year.
When the Health, Safety &Environmental team there took on "Fans for Folks" as a community project, they did not know the Community Action Agency didn't receive funding for fans this year.
The HSE team then decided to contact Red Bay businesses to see if they would like to contribute, also.
They did.
When the drive was over, 50 fans and over $500 were collected.
"It was perfect timing," said Tammy McDaniel, Executive Director of the Community Action Agency of Northwest Alabama.
The Agency will distribute the fans and monetary donations within Franklin County.
Members of the team were quick to thank Red Bay businesses and residents for contributing to the project.
