PHIL CAMPBELL – The annual Phil Campbell Hoedown will have an international flavor this year as artists from across the globe join the fun.
Rita Barton, organizer of the 7th annual event, said a production company from the United Kingdom has been in contact with officials about shooting a music video.
"There is an artist named Phil Campbell and they want to shoot his music video here during the festival," Barton said.
Campbell's visit will only be one of the highlights during the growing event.
"We have lots of good entertainment lined up," Barton said.
Entertainment will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday and 4 to 11 p.m. Saturday.
One of the Hoedown's annual attractions is the car, truck, tractor and motorcycle show. There is a $20 fee for cars and trucks and $10 cost for entering motorcycles.
There will also be a barbecue cook-off and bubble gum blowing contests.
Barton said dance contests will begin after 9 p.m. Saturday.
"We have a lot of things going on," she said. "We will have inflatables in front of the school for kids and lots of vendors here."
The event continues to grow each year, organizers said.
"It keeps getting better and better," Barton said.
