UNA basketball camps
June 2-5
FLORENCE – The University of North Alabama women's basketball program will hold a fundamental camp for girls grades 3-12 Monday, June 2-Friday, June 5 from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Tuition is $150 with a group rate of $135 for three or more registrations sent together. June 6-7
FLORENCE – The UNA women's basketball program will hold position camp Friday, June 6-Saturday, June 7 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday for girls in grades 9-12. Tuition is $125. For more information, call (256) 765-4615 or (256) 765-4161.
June 16-18
FLORENCE – The UNA women's basketball program will hold a commuter shooting camp Monday, June 16-Wednesday, June 18 from 8:30 a.m. until noon for girls in grades 3-12. Special camp features include a T-shirt and ball and UNA players as counselors for individual instruction. For more information, call (256) 765-4615 or (256) 765-4161.
Youth football sign-ups
June 7 &21
The Russellville Youth Football League will hold registration Saturday, June 7 and June 21 at the Russellville Park and Recreation Center from 9 a.m. until noon.
The cost will be $65 for ages 5-12. The 5-year-olds will play on the new Micro Midget team. There are a limited number of spots available, and these two dates will be the only sign-ups. Please your child to be fitted for jerseys, along with a birth certificate copy if this is your child's first year to play. For more information, call Peggy Hipps at (256) 436-4074.
Men's softball tournament
June 7
GUIN – A men's Class C and D class softball tournament will be held Saturday, June 7 at the city field.
There will be a three home run limit and the fee is $150 per team. T-shirts will be provided to the top three teams and 44-core balls will be used. The deadline to enter is Thursday, May 29. For more information, call Kenny Jones at (205) 952-9466 or Dwayne Tucker at (205) 412-0698.
Helen Keller Festival races
June 28
TUSCUMBIA – The 30th annual Helen Keller Festival will sponsor a 5-mile race and 1-mile fun run Saturday, June 28 at 8 a.m. at the Colbert County Courthouse. Both courses certified and registration is $15 (5-mile) and $10 (1-mile) through June 24 and $20/$15 from June 25-28. For more information, contact Joy Harbin at (256) 381-4706
