American Legion baseball tryouts
May 17
The Russellville American Legion Post 64 team will hold open tryouts Saturday, May 17 at 10 a.m. at the Russellville High School baseball field. The team will play approximately 30 games in June and July. For more information, contact Wes Todd at (256) 483-5180 or Greg Batchelor at (256) 810-3493.
3-man scramble golf tournament
May 17-18
HALEYVILLE – The Haleyville Golf Club will host a 3-man scramble golf tournament May 17-18 with tee times Saturday and a shotgun start Sunday. Cost is $100 per person. For more information or to register, call (205) 269-0133 or (205) 486-3906.
Punt, Pass &Kick football clinic
May 20-22
PHIL CAMPBELL – The Phil Campbell High School football program will host a Punt, Pass &Kick football clinic Tuesday, May 20-Thursday, May 22 from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. for grades 3-6. The cost of the clinic is $30, and a T-shirt and snacks will be provided. Sign-up forms will be passed out to students at school or you can sign your child up on Tuesday. All proceeds go to the football program.
BASS regional tournament
May 22-23
DECATUR – The BASS Club World Championship (BCWC) Regional Tournament, a qualifier for the World Championship, will be held Thursday, May 22 and Friday, May 23. Ten regional tournaments are held throughout the year with winners from each advancing to the BASS Club World Championship, which is set for Oct. 6-11. UNA fundamentals basketball camp
June 2-5
FLORENCE – The University of North Alabama women's basketball program will hold a fundamental camp for girls grades 3-12 Monday, June 2-Friday, June 5 from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Tuition is $150 with a group rate of $135 for three or more registrations sent together. UNA basketball position camp
June 6-7
FLORENCE – The University of North Alabama women's basketball program will hold position camp Friday, June 6-Saturday, June 7 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday for girls in grades 9-12. Tuition is $125. For more information, call (256) 765-4615 or (256) 765-4161.
Men's softball tournament
June 7
GUIN – A men's Class C and D class softball tournament will be held Saturday, June 7 at the city field. There will be a three home run limit and the fee is $150 per team. T-shirts will be provided to the top three teams and 44-core balls will be used. The deadline to enter is Thursday, May 29. UNA basketball shooting camp
June 16-18
FLORENCE – The University of North Alabama women's basketball program will hold a commuter shooting camp Monday, June 16-Wednesday, June 18 from 8:30 a.m. until noon for girls in grades 3-12. Helen Keller Festival races
June 28
TUSCUMBIA – The 30th annual Helen Keller Festival will sponsor a 5-mile race and 1-mile fun run Saturday, June 28 at 8 a.m. at the Colbert County Courthouse. Both courses certified and registration is $15 (5-mile) and $10 (1-mile) through June 24 and $20/$15 from June 25-28. For more information, contact Joy Harbin at (256) 381-4706
