Earnest G. Peppers

Earnest Geuel Peppers, 70, Littleville, Alabama passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Mr. Peppers was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and attended First Baptist Church in Russellville. He was retired from the Army reserve and retired in 2000 from Shoals Hospital where he was Materials Manager for 24 years.
The funeral was held April 12 at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville with Richard Parker officiating. Burial followed in Shady Grove Cemetery, Phil Campbell.
Survivors include wife, Regina Gibson Peppers, Littleville, Alabama; children, Pam Gaillard and husband Gary, Madison, Alabama; Steve Peppers and wife, Pam, Madison, Alabama, Erin Lindsey and husband, Joshua, Tuscumbia, Alabama; brother, Fairless Peppers and wife, Sue, Opelika, Alabama; grandchildren, Sara Mitchell, Brittney Peppers, Makensie Peppers, Kolt Lindsey and Logan Lindsey
Pallbearers will be Lewis Frederick, Wayne Frederick, Jeff Peppers, David Gibson, Joshua Lindsey, Gary Gaillard, Charles Bryant and Tommy Wyatt.
Honorary bearers will be James Mathheus, Gary Pace, Charles Stokes, Joan and Don Oliver.
He was preceded in death by parents, Earnest and Era Peppers; grandson, Joshua Mitchell.
James L. Baker

James L. Baker, 56, Hackleburg, Alabama passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham.
Mr. Baker was a native of Franklin County, but had lived in Hackleburg for one month. He was a member of Hackleburg Church of Christ. He was presently employed by Northwest Shoals Community College.
Funeral services were held April 10 at the Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville with Anthony Muston, Eddie Lawson and Mike Lane officiating.
Burial will followed in Cedar Tree Cemetery, Hackleburg.
He is survived by wife, Linda Baker, Hackleburg, Alabama; daughter, Mandy (Clay) Shires, Reform, Alabama; son, Valley (Brandy) Vickery, Hackleburg, Alabama; sisters, Martha (Olen) Roberts, Spruce Pine, Alabama, Jean (Tommy) Montgomery, Russellville, Alabama; grandchildren, Morgan Shires and Blaise Vickery; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by father, Clayton Baker; mother, Betty Brown; daughter, Wende Vickery; grandparents, Hasten and Tera Mae Stegall.
Delma Baker

Delma "Jenny" Rea Baker died Monday, April 7, 2008 at Russellville Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born on July 29, 1937 in Hodges to the late James Daniel and Fannie Mae Rea. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Pauline Rea Haney; brother, Robert Lee Rea; husband, Billy Joe Baker; an infant son and infant daughter.
Ms. Baker graduated with a Master's Degree in Education from the University of North Alabama and was a retired school teacher with the Franklin County Board of Education. She enjoyed teaching so much and often talked about her experiences as a teacher. Her great grandchildren knew that when they saw their Mawmaw Jenny that she would find something to teach them and they would learn something from her.
Ms. Baker is survived by sons, David Keith Baker (Sharon) of Hackleburg and Michael Allen Baker of Phil Campbell; grandchildren, Joe Baker (Jennifer), of Russellville, Amy Baker Rusk (Jeff), Christy Baker McAfee (Brian), all of Haleyville, Amanda Baker, Justin Baker and John Baker, all of Phil Campbell; great-grandchildren, Blake McAfee, Joseph, Jacob, and Lillian Rusk, Hunter Baker, and little baby Gracie Ray Baker. She also has several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many special friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 12 at Akins Funeral Home. Bro. Elmer Lee Steward officiated the service. Burial followed in the Ol' Line Cemetery.
