The Annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet will have a new spin this year.
The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Development Authority have elected to combine their festivities into one large event, putting the county's retail and industrial base elbow to elbow at the buffet table.
"This is part of our existing industry program, where we recognize industry and industry leaders in the county," Sherye Price, Assistant Director of the county Development Authority said.
"The chamber has had their event for years and we thought this would be a good opportunity to join the two offices for one night."
Chamber Director Cheryl Bradford said approximately 20 tables have been sold. Tables of eight can be reserved for $150. Individual tickets may also be purchased for $20 each. A limited number of tickets are still available.
Aside from the food, awards will be handed out to local business and industry leaders and volunteers including the Distinguished Service Award, Beautification Award, Business of the Year, Industry of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Unsung Hero, Excellence in Growth and Franklin County's Best Kept Secret.
This year's banquet will be held at the A.W. Todd Centre, April 1 at 6:30 p.m.
The guest speaker will be Ralph Stacy, President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama.
