The meaning of Easter is much more than bunnies, candy

By Staff
Today, millions of people, along with thousands of Franklin County residents, will spend the day celebrating Easter.
Children from Red Bay to Russellville will spend much of the day hunting brightly colored eggs and scarrfing down one chocolate Easter bunny after another.
However, oftentimes, lost somewhere in the jellybeans and the Easter basket grass, is the true meaning of Easter.
Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus, but over the years the Easter Bunny has become the poster child for one of Christianity's most hallowed days.
There's nothing wrong with having a little fun today. We hope each of you enjoy your day, heading to Easter services, gathered around a freshly baked ham, or hunting eggs in the farthest reaches of your yard.
The best way to celebrate such an important and significant day is to spend time with the people that you love and the people who love you.
And to remember what it's really all about.
