Relay for Life is a good local cause to support

By Staff
As spring weather starts to settle in, the signs of Franklin County's Relay for Life are beginning to make themselves known.
Whether selling spaghetti plates, t-shirt sponsorship or you're planting a toilet in someone's yard, the local Relay for Life push is something worth getting behind.
There are currently 56 teams devoted to the Franklin County Relay for Life. CB&S Bank leads the way with six teams. Various other banks and local business round out the rest of the list.
With so many teams, you're sure to find some of your friends on a team who have joined the crusade against cancer. If not, throw a group of friends together and start a team yourself.
By participating in an American Cancer Society Relay For Life event near you, you honor cancer survivors, pay tribute to the lives lost to the disease, and raise money to help fight it – all right in our community.
Much more than a walk around a track, Relay is a time to celebrate those who have battled cancer, remember those lost and get inspired to fight back. Those who have shared the same experience find common ground, hope and healing at Relay. By participating, you have the power to continue the American Cancer Society's progress toward a future where cancer doesn't take the lives of our friends and family.
Relay and the events that surround it means a lot of things to a lot of our friends and neighbors. We encourage you to support it in any way that you can.
