The Franklin County Sheriff's Department arrested nine people Monday after a traffic stop led to the discovery of a working methamphetamine lab inside a Phil Campbell home.
Rodney Allen Lindley, 28, of 458 Pace Lane, Phil Campbell, and Robert Wayne Campbell, 23, and Brandon Pruitt, both of 237 Carl Elliott Heights in Haleyville, were arrested Monday morning as they left a local business with mateials to produce methamphetamine, investigators said.
Lindley was charged with first-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance, second-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Campbell was charged with second-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance and driving under the influence.
Pruitt was charged with second-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance and public intoxication.
Investigators said the arrests led to the execution of a search warrant at 194 Block Church Road in Phil Campbell later that day where six more people were arrested.
Sheriff's department officials said the resident at that home, Jerry R. Mills, 52, was charged with first-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Jimmy Ray Carroll, 25, of 2528 Franklin 237, and James Lee Mashburn, 26, of 716 Kent St., both of Phil Campbell, were charged with first-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance.
Michelle Baker, 31, of 458 Pace Lane, and Kimberly Joe Trapp, 33, of Shelnutt Loop, both in Phil Campbell, and Daniel Brewer, 29, of 11280 Highway 78, Tremont, Miss., were all charged with first-degree manufacturing of a controlled substance and the possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
Investigators said a working meth lab was removed from the home by the Hazmat team and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
Officers executed a warrant at an abandoned home on Franklin 75 that was believed to have also been used to make meth.
All of those involved were taken to the county jail.
