Obituaries from the Feb. 22 edition of the Franklin County Times

Pelham Willis, age 84, Russellville, Al passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2008.
The visitation will be 11 am-2 pm, Friday, February 22, 2008 prior to the 2:00 pm funeral service at Spry Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Bro. Jeff Fleming. Interment will be in Franklin Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Tim Willis, Chris Willis, Bill Willis, Josh Fuller, Jay Compton and Joey Compton.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lee Grissom Willis; parents, Floyd and Modena Rogers Willis; brothers, Wayne and Will Willis: sister, Melba Pickett.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy J. Hoskins Willis; sons; Johnny (Susie) Willis, Donnie (Nancy) Willis, Billy (Sandra) Willis; step-daughter, Elaine (Ray) Lindsey; sisters, Madge Casteel, Mary Mitchell, Ann (Howard) Barnett; 9 grandchildren, Angie (Jeff) Compton, Micki Willis, Tim (Kim) Willis, Chris (Tina) Willis, Bill (Jessica) Willis, Josh (Miranda) Fuller, Heath (Madison) Berry, Justin Berry, Maggie Creasy; 9 great grandchildren, Jay, Joey and Callie Compton, John Isaac Willis, Ally, Josie and Emily Willis, Kaden Fuller, Mason Berry; a host of step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was affectionately known to his family as "Pop". He was a WWII Army veteran and retired from Reynolds Metals.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Terrace Manor Nursing Home for their kindness and excellent care.
