Russellville boys improve to 19-0
TUSCUMBIA – Class 4A Deshler briefly led the Russellville varsity boys Saturday night, but the No. 4 Golden Tigers dominated the second and third quarters to remain undefeated.
Deshler took an 17-16 lead after the first quarter, but Russellville responded with a 23-12 run in the second to lead by 10 at halftime, and a 22-16 run by the Golden Tigers in the third put the the game out of reach.
Siran Winston scored a game-high 19 points for Russellville (19-0), while Cory Trapp had 17 and Nate Dunstand and Terence Smith added 14 apiece.
Chris Holland paced Deshler (13-4) with 18 oints, and Brent Lloyd finished with 10.
Deshler girls defeat Russellville
TUSCUMBIA – The Deshler varsity girls jumped out to a 56-29 halftime advantage en route to an 85-43 victory over Russellville Saturday night.
Deshler increased its defensive pressure and held the Lady Golden Tigers to a combined 14 points in the second half.
Ashleigh Jackson scored 25 points and Tarnisha Whitson had 24, while Birdie Bowens added a double-double of 17 points and 10 assists for Deshler.
Tasha West led Russellville with 19 points, while Erin eynolds had 8 and Janarie Donley added six. Janae Dollar (3), JaLesa Hamilton (2), Ayanna McCullough (2), Felicia Collins (2) and Victoria Taylor (1) also scored for the Lady Golden Tigers.

Run 2 Cavalry
2-Mile Run/Walk
TUSCUMBIA – The Run 2 Cavalry 2-Mile Run/Walk will be held Saturday, Feb. 2 at Calvary Baptist Church beginning at 9 a.m.
