Area residents who think they might have been victims of a recent series of storage building thefts will have one more chance to retrieve their items.
The Russellville and Haleyville police departments will display thousands of items recovered from the storage building thefts on Jan. 30 at the Ralph C. Bishop Community Center.
A recent arrest of a Winston County couple revealed items that had been taken from units across the two counties. Some of the items found include paintings, electronics, household furniture and clothing.
Russellville Police Lt. Scotty Lowery said the items would be on display from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day.
Officials urge anyone who has rented spaces in the county, especially at Town Hill Mini Storage in Russellville, to check those units even if the lock appears to be in place. Anyone who believes their storage unit has been broken into should contact the Russellville Police Department before Jan. 30 to file a report. Any items not claimed on Jan. 30 will be declared as surplus and sold at auction.
