No. 5 Lady Tigers defeat PC 84-52

PHIL CAMPBELL – No. 5 Red Bay seized control of the Class 2A, Area 16 race with an 84-52 win at county rival Phil Campbell Tuesday night.
Red Bay used a balanced scoring attack to outscore Phil Campbell 28-10 in the first quarter and 24-12 in the third as five players finished in double figures for the Lady Tigers.
Chelsey McWilliams had a team-high 16 points, while Jessica Johnston had 12 and Kirsten Sharp, Brittany Scott and Britan Bolding scored 10 points apiece. Jackie Holland (8), Morgan Duncan (7), Aimee Jackson (4), Caitlin Childers (3), Meghann Oliver (2) and Taylor Hester (2) also scord for Red Bay (14-5, 5-0)
Chasity Morgan scored a game-high 20 points to lead Phil Campbell (6-10, 2-4). Shannon Gasaway had 10. Ashley Jones, while Alissa Smith, Jessica Taylor and Tatum Benford each had four points.
The Phil Campbell junior varsity and varsity teams play at Hackleburg today at 4 p.m., while the Red Bay varsity squads will tip off at Tharptown at 5:30 p.m.

Belgreen 57
FLORENCE – The Shoals Christian varsity girls picked up a key Class 1A, Area 16 win Tuesday night by beating Belgreen 61-57 and handing the Lady Bulldogs their first loss in area play.
Belgreen overwhelmed Shoals Christian at home 53-34 last Friday, but this time around Jessica Hartley and Mackenzie Bishop combined for 38 points for the Lady Flame.
Martha Billingham had a team-high 18 points for the Lady Bulldogs.
The Belgreen varsity teams will play Vina in its homecoming game tonight beginning at 6 p.m.
Russellville 93
Athens 41
The fourth-ranked Russellville varsity boys cruised past Class 5A, Area 16 rival Athens Tuesday night with a 93-41 win at home.
The Golden Tigers (16-0, 3-0) were led by a season-high 28 points from Terence Smith, while Cory Trapp added 18.
Ben McPhearson led the Golden Eagles with 13 points.
The Russellville varsity teams will host Mars Hill tonight at 4:30 p.m.
