Tharptown earns home sweep over Vina

THARPTOWN – Vina led most of the game, but Tharptown responded in the fourth quarter with a 15-5 run to beat the Red Devils 64-55 Friday night.
Joseph Parker led the Wildcats with 23 points, while Manny Ricardo had 11 and Trevor Hallmark added 10.
Cass White had a team-high 14 points for Vina, while Brent Townsend, Blake Thorn and Morgan McCarley each finished with 11 points.
Mars Hill 83
Phil Campbell 72
PHIL CAMPBELL – Mars Hill inflated a six-point halftime lead with a 20-12 run in the third quarter to beat Phil Campbell 83-72 Friday night.
Jonathan Dill led the Bobcats with 15 points, while Caleb Thompson had 14 and Tanner Maddox added 12.
Mitchell Barnes scored a game-high 31 points as all five starters finished in double figures for Mars Hill.
Shoals Christian 71
Belgreen 45
BELGREEN – Shoals Christian went ahead early as Daniel Almon tossed in a game-high 25 points in the Flame's 71-45 win Friday night.
Spencer Hargett paced Belgreen with 15 points, while Kyle Warren added 10.
Brilliant 62
Vina 55
VINA – Brilliant earned a 62-55 road victory Thursday night over Vina.
Brent Townsend led the Red Devils with 13 points, while Randy Barnes and Blake Thorn added 10 points each and combined for 11 rebounds.
Cass White added six points and five rebounds, while Morgan McCarley also finished with six points.

THARPTOWN – A trio of starters finished in double figures for Tharptown as the Lady Wildcats beat Vina 69-30 Friday night.
Beth Lane led Tharptown with 17 points, while Hollie Hines and Chelsea McCluskey both scored 16.
Vina's Heather Holland finished with 14 points, and Devyn Childers and Jessie Norwood each scored six.
Belgreen 53
Shoals Christian 34
BELGREEN – Monica Smith scored a game-high 21 points as Belgreen stayed undefeated in area play with a 53-34 home victory over Shoals Christian Friday night.
Mackenzie Bishop led the Flame with 10 points.
Mars Hill 86
Phil Campbell 52
PHIL CAMPBELL – Chasity Morgan poured in 29 points and surpassed 1,000 points in her career, but Mars Hill's Sarah Bailey scored 37 points to lead the Lady Panthers over Phil Campbell 86-52 Friday night in a Class 2A, Area 16 game.

Brilliant 39
VINA – Heather Holland recorded a double-double with 28 points and 15 rebounds as Vina blasted Brilliant 57-39 Thursday night.
Jessie Norwood also scored in double-figures for the Lady Red Devils with 15 points.
