Waterloo defeats Red Bay boys 49-32
WATERLOO – The Red Bay varsity boys lost to Waterloo 49-32 in the Listerhilll Credit Union Christmas Tournament Friday.
Justin Page led Red Bay with a game-high 15 points, while Grant Fancher had seven.
Will McFall had a team-high 11 points for the Cougars (6-9).
Tanner girls edge Red Bay 61-57
ROGERSVILLE – The Red Bay varsity girls lost to Tanner 61-57 in the Northwest Alabama Christmas Tournament Friday afternoon.
Chelsey McWilliams led Red Bay with 17 points.
Sierra Sales scored a game-high 22 points for the Lady Rattlers.
Sheffield beats Lady Tigers 64-56
ROGERSVILLE – Defending 3A state champion Sheffield came from behind to defeat the Red Bay varsity girls 64-56 Thursday night in the Northwest Alabama Christmas Tournament.
The Lady Bulldogs trailed 47-41 entering the fourth quarter but they outscored Red Bay 23-9 to advance to the tournament semifinals.
Chelsey McWilliams led Red Bay with a game-high 27 points, while Brittany Scott had 15 and Morgan Duncan added 10.
Jasmine Horne scored a team-high 20 points for Sheffield, while Shakayla Crum had 14. Mondricka Whitson finished with 11 points, while Zenaunnie Campbell had 10.
Belgreen girls beat Hackleburg 64-54
FAYETTE – The Belgreen varsity girls beat Hackleburg 64-54 Thursday night to advance to the championship game of the Fayette Lions Club Tournament.
Deborah Billingham scored a game-high 20 points, and Amber Smith had 13.
Hope Hudson led Hackleburg with 18 points.
Red Bay boys fall to Cherokee 74-58
WATERLOO – Cherokee defeated the Red Bay boys 74-58 in the Listerhill Credit Union Christmas Tournament Thursday.
Derrick Miller led Red Bay with 17 points.
Dominique Croom had a game-high 18 points for Cherokee, while Devin Roberson had 15.
UNA-Marriott Shoals Classic
December 30
FLORENCE – The University of North Alabama women's basketball program will host the Marriott Shoals Classic Dec.30 at Flowers Hall.
UNA will play Kentucky Wesleyan Dec. 30 at 4 p.m., and admission is free.
Millenium Run
December 31
The annual Millenium Run 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run will be held Monday, December 31.
