Russellville beats Etowah 74-59

BOAZ – The Russellville varsity boys improved to 10-0 with a 74-59 victory over Etowah in the opening round of the WQSB Christmas Tournament Wednesday night.
Senior shooting guard Cory Trapp led the Golden Tigers, who claimed the TimesDaily Classic championship last week, with 30 points, while point guard Siran Winston had 20 points.
Terence Smith and Jordan Hammond each finished with nine points, and Jermaine Bates added six.
Russellville led by only five points after the first quarter, but the Golden Tigers built a 61-48 advantage in the third quarter and held Etowah to only 11 points in the final period.
